Born on July 19th, 1956 of European Spanish/Mexican decent in Kokomo Indiana, I was the third eldest of nine children from two marriages. My parents both came from very large families. My mother from fifteen, and my father from fifteen... all from the same mother and father.
Formal education was limited for both of my parents, but has remained a high priority in the lives of my seven children. I was unable to finish my own college education as a result of health complications my father suffered. Family hardship forced him to stop attending his own schooling after the sixth grade, and at the tender age of twelve he began working. My Dad went on to become a millionaire through hard work and perseverance. As an adult he bought a meat business at the Grand Central Market in Los Angeles, California and the rest was history.
I consider myself very fortunate even though my parents divorced when I was young, because they both made sure to teach me the value of good work ethics, honesty and the unwillingness to ever give up on what you believe in. Today, some three decades later I own several companies, and I am living out my dreams in a manner that most people won't allow themselves to do.
That's right ! It's a mental decision. Everyone is in control of their future. The sad truth is that most people are afraid of success, because they don't believe they deserve it. Most people believe that extraordinary riches and comfort are only meant for a select few. The true fact... is that nothing could be further from the truth.
